Parents’ Night Out

Being a parent in this day and age is TOUGH. And sometimes, parents need an evening just to recharge… just to enjoy.

Our monthly Parents Night Out serves this purpose for our community. Parents can drop-off their kiddos at 5:45 pm. They are entertained and well cared-for, allowing the parents to enjoy a much-deserved night on the town.

How You Can Help

  • Volunteer. Men and women are needed to assist in feeding, monitoring, and providing fun and wholesome entertainment opportunities for the children entrusted to our care. Note: background checks are required for all new volunteers.

Food Pantry

Even in our prosperous and bountiful nation, hunger is still a concern for many. Government programs provide food assistance, but often with huge gaps between the request and when the food is provided.

Assistance coming in two weeks won’t fill a hungry stomach today.

Our food pantry, expertly managed by members Lynn Blanton, Martha Deese and Mike Peterson, helps many local families in times of desperate need.

How You Can Help

  • Donate non-perishable foods. Tap or click here for a list of current needs.
  • Donate cash. Used for immediate and special-needs purchases.
  • Offer to assist in taking foods to the homes where it is needed. Let Lynn, Martha or Mike know if you can be called-upon to help.

Florida Bible Camp

Offers a wholesome summer camp experience for girls and boys aged 8 to 18, in the beautiful and natural setting of the camp’s 200-acre property on the Santa Fe River.

Our congregation was directly involved in the founding of this camp over 60 years ago, and remains involved to this day along with many other area congregations that support this good work.

How You Can Help

  • Volunteer. Men and women are needed to fill several roles before, during and after the camp sessions.
  • Donate. Cash always works. Other needs are listed on the camp’s website or Facebook.
  • Rebuild. Our church provides and maintains one of the cabins. Now, after years of camp sessions and lots of great memories, it’s time to tear it down and rebuild. We’ll accept donations of cash, materials, and ‘elbow grease’ to make it happen. Please contact us if you can help with any of these needs.

Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort

We know all about natural disasters here in ‘hurricane country.’ The Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort coordinates the procurement of relief supplies, handing them over to local churches (like ours) for distribution to disaster victims.

Our members have provided financial assistance directly to this organization. We stand ready to provide our facilities as a storage or distribution site in times of need.

How You Can Help

  • Donate. Money, not supplies. This effort is an efficient, well-oiled machine that can use your dollars to buy 3 – 4 times what you could buy at retail. Visit their website.
  • Volunteer. In the event of a disaster in our area, volunteer assistance may be needed.

Roles in Bible Classes and Worship

Every Sunday, a dozen or so congregation members participate in making our worship service come together. We’re always looking for individuals who would like to use their spiritual gifts in making our worship uplifting to members and pleasing to God.

There are many roles to be filled… greeting members and visitors, teaching classes, leading songs or prayer, serving the Lord’s Supper, reading from God’s inspired word, attending our nursery facilities, assisting with technology/sound and video, and many more.

How You Can Help

  • Volunteer. Baptized believers are welcomed to offer their participation in worship. Contact us.

Facilities Repair and Maintenance

Our facility serves many purposes: Bible classes, worship, fellowship, and hosting community events. It takes effort to maintain and improve this facility, so that it may continue serving us and the community for years to come.

How You Can Help

  • Volunteer. Your skills can be put to good use, whatever they are, whether it’s fixing a plumbing or electrical issue, running a pressure-washer, painting a wall… even just providing refreshments and support for those doing the work. Want to help? Contact us.

Food Groups

When someone falls ill, is injured, or hospitalized, it often places a strain on the family’s time and finances. And sometimes, having a good meal is the first thing to be sacrificed.

Food groups have been organized to meet this need. Four separate groups serve on a rotational basis, so as to not overwhelm our cherished members who volunteer for this service. They stay aware of the needs of church members and others during their times of difficulty, and are ready to provide a hearty meal to those families when needed.

How You Can Help

  • Join a food group. As long as you can provide a well-balanced meal to those in need – whether you prepare it yourself, or pick it up from a local restaurant – your efforts will be appreciated! Contact us.
