Our Servant Leaders

Here are the men and women who dedicate their spiritual gifts toward the various areas of ministry of the church.

Our Shepherds

We have chosen the scriptural term “shepherds” rather than “elders”. Elder is a good and scriptural name, but often carries a false negative connotation associated with church bosses, rule-makers and bill-payers. And that’s not us. We’re blessed to have deacons and ministry leaders who are well-equipped to address the operational needs of the church.

And that’s exactly how we like it. It frees our shepherds to focus their efforts onto their true calling: the spiritual growth and scriptural guidance of our flock.

Ed and his wife Gretchen have been fixtures at our church (in Ed's case, a 6'4`` fixture!) for many years. You'll often see Ed teaching a class, taking attendance, or lending his considerable ``skill with the grill`` to fellowship events.

Shepherd
Lindell

A lifetime of preaching the word was just the start for Lindell (and his wife Gloria) as he now relies on his love of God and his vast knowledge of scripture to provide spiritual guidance here in High Springs.

Shepherd
Tim

Tim serves a dual role as shepherd and pulpit minister. Growing up in High Springs, Tim (and wife Penny) returned in 2013 to take the minister’s job his father held years ago. His dedication to the Lord’s church is evident, as is his allegiance to Alabama football.

Pulpit Minister/Shepherd
Warren

“Coach” Warren brings life experience as a teacher and coach of Santa Fe sports – and strong knowledge of scripture – to the task. He and wife Pam have been involved in just about every aspect of church life throughout many years of service to the Lord’s church.

Our Deacons and Ministry Leaders

“Deacon” is interpreted by some churches today, unfortunately, in a manner that departs from its meaning in the original language of scripture. The Greek word “Diakon” means “minister” or “servant” – the most important calling of any follower of Christ.

We honor those who are willing to give of their time and talents as deacons (see 1 Timothy 3:8-13) and as ministry leaders (Acts 6:3-6, Romans 16:1-16) in service to the Lord’s church.
